In this one-week morning session, campers will explore a wide range of methods for creative expression. As part of the artistic process, we will practice looking at, talking about, and creating art of different subjects and media. We will consider work by artists like Van Gogh, O’Keeffe, Kollwitz, and Hockney as a source of inspiration for developing our own individual self-expression. And we will practice making art with through painting, drawing, mixed-media, and collage. Make room on your walls!  This sessions is only open to rising 4th-6th grade. (Also listed in Lower School).

Intro to Adobe After Effects MINI-COURSENEW cancelled

Grades 6-8
This course will introduce students to the foundational concepts and features of Adobe’s top-notch tool for composition, animation, and motion graphics creation.  After Effects (AE) is widely used by creatives including animators, visual effects artists, web designers and professionals in the area of film and video. Students should come to the session with a basic understanding of computer operations and must be able to open, save and close files.

Digital Photography: An IntroductionNEWMINI-COURSE cancelled

Grades 5-8
This course will serve as an introduction to the world of digital photography. Utilizing the National Cathedral and the Cathedral Close, this class will provide students with instruction in the basics of digital photography including light, composition, exposure, and style. Students will also learn how to use a digital SLR camera. Each day, students will explore a different style and digital photography technique. Lessons will include portrait, sports, architectural, nature, and "trick" photography. Digital SLR cameras will be provided. (Also listed in Lower School - 5th graders)
