Abstract Art NEWMINI-COURSE

In this course students will experience the freedom that comes with abstract art. They will develop skills using paint, ink, pencils, and objects. They will gain a fundamental understanding of abstract art while working on personal and group projects. (Also listed in Upper School.)

Fundamentals of Art NEWMINI-COURSE

Grades 8-10
In this course, students will learn the essential foundations of drawing. They will use charcoal, pencil, ink, and collage while working on newsprint and bristol board. Students will experience figure, object, and point perspective drawing. They will also learn and study draftings by Raphael, Hockney, and Matisse.  (Also listed in Upper School.)

Awesome Art! NEW MINI-COURSE

Grades 7-10
This creative summer experience takes place in an encouraging and engaging art studio atmosphere. The class will explore how images and objects are used to communicate ideas, demonstrate concepts, and tell stories in both the real and imagined world.   Inspired by contemporary art history, illustration, advertising, architecture, and cinema, students will create unique pieces using a variety of materials including ink, paint, spray paint, and found objects. Artists may take one or both weeks.
