History Case StudiesMINI-COURSE

Grades 8 - 11
During this week, students will examine a historical case study from the "History of American Democracy" course originally taught at Harvard College. Students will engage in close reading of the case, expository writing, and robust discussion of the case facilitated by the teacher. In the process, students will develop an understanding of the nuance and complexity of historical moments as if they were living at the time. The teacher has been trained by Harvard Business School Professor David Moss through the Case Method Institute to adapt the case for use for secondary school students. As Dr. Moss describes the case method, students will learn “history in the present tense.” Click here to view study options.
