STA Varsity Golf Opens Season at UMD
The 2024 Varsity Golf team opened it's season yesterday with a scrimmage against St. John's College HS at the University of Maryland Golf Course. The teams played a stroke play match, with 8 golfers counting 6. St John's prevailed by 10 strokes. Last year, STA graduated 7 seniors from the squad so this year's team is much younger and less experienced. 5 golfers made their Varsity debuts yesterday for the Bulldogs. After a nervy first hole, the Bulldogs settled down and played SJC mostly even for the rest of the match. All in all it was a good first showing for the golf team.
