St. Albans’ annual literary-arts magazine, Gyre, received the American Scholastic Press Association’s (ASPA) First Place award for excellence in student publishing.
The publication, which was led by Class of 2023 graduates Benjamin Acosta and Liam McCarthy, featured 26 pieces of writing by St. Albans students. The works were accompanied by photographs and artwork created by St. Albans students as well. Dr. André Hoyrd supervised the publication.
In awarding Gyre the first place prize, ASPA commended the publication’s attention to detail: “Gyre is an excellent publication which deserves a First Place award in the annual American Scholastic Press Association’s magazine competition ... Your magazine shows the superior efforts of talented and creative editors, writers, artists, photographers, layout/graphic designers, staff members, contributors, and advisor.”
